Background
Throughout Dr. Brian Johnson's life, academics have never come easy. He needed the help of peers during high school and while pursuing his associates, bachelors, masters, and even his doctorate. Their help was uplifting, empowering, and exactly what he needed! For almost 20 years now he has seen the power of the peer manifest itself in the lives of his high school, college, and university students. He has come to the conclusion that all students, regardless of age, need the help of their peers to achieve their greatest potential.
In 2012, as part of his doctoral studies, he created a peer tutoring program at his high school, which later became the focus of his dissertation. Since then, he has seen thousands of students, both tutor and tutee, benefit from peer tutoring. In his opinion, peer tutoring has helped change his campus’ culture and is now a part of his school’s identity. In 2021, he was asked to help take peer tutoring district-wide. It is his desire to help as many schools/districts create their own programs thus affording their students the opportunity to experience the many wonderful benefits of peer tutoring. It is for this purpose that Peer Potential Consulting was created!
